Dear Parents and Guardians,
We practiced our emergency lockdown procedures today at North Coventry Elementary School. Under the supervision of Chief Mauger, of the Owen J. Roberts School District Police, Mr. Comtois, Fire Marshal for North Coventry Township, and Officer Holliday, of the North Coventry Township Police Department, the school went into an Exterior Lockdown at 9 AM as part of a practice scenario. Per our lockdown procedures, students and faculty were secured within locked classrooms and all students and adults were accounted for. Following the conclusion of the lockdown drill, Chief Mauger, Mr. Comtois, and Officer Holliday provided the school’s Crisis Response Team with feedback regarding the drill.
Practicing lockdown procedures is just one more way of being sure that in the event of an emergency we are able to maintain the safety and security of all of our students and staff. Everyone involved in the drill did a good job in remaining calm and following our lockdown procedures.
Sincerely,
Jim Melchor
