The North Coventry Elementary School yearly population determines our staffing needs. Class sizes are based on the yearly student population and class size ranges adopted by the Owen J. Roberts Board of School Directions.
Description of Educational Program
The program of studies for K-5 elementary students emphasizes teaching a child to read with understanding, to compute accurately, and to express ideas clearly. The District’s goal is to attempt to fulfill each student’s learning needs according to his/her particular learning pace and style. Differentiation of instruction and flexible grouping are utilized to meet students' academic needs.
The District provides early intervention programs and special education programs for students who face special mental or physical challenges that affect their ability to benefit from regular education programs. The vast majority of programs for exceptional students are located in and operated by the District.
PTA & Volunteers
North Coventry Elementary School acknowledges the vital role volunteers play in the school community. The North Coventry Chapter of PTA is very active. This core of dedicated individuals provides support to the educational program as well as providing opportunities for families to socialize. Volunteers are used to support instruction in the classroom and to chaperone field trips. Volunteers must fulfill the requirements set forth in Policy 916 adopted by the Board of School Directors of Owen J. Roberts School District. This policy can be accessed through the district website by clicking on School Board/Policy & Regulations.
